Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: Review

Danielle and I went to go see the new installment in the Harry Potter saga: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. We couldn't make it to the matinee so we had to pay full price for the tickets. I believe $18 was worth watching the movie though. It is true that they left out a few important parts of the book, but overall you get the set up for the next movie. That, to me, was the most important objective that this movie had to accomplish. The acting has definitely stepped up a notch as it seems that the actors are truly embracing their characters. Harry finally understands his importance in the movie when he exclaims, "I am the Chosen One!". The special effects were superb, with many explosions, magic, Death Eaters, and the usual Quidditch match. Dumbledore seems much more like the version in the novel. He seems more serious and ready to prepare Harry for the upcoming final battle that he will face sometime in the next movies. The movie focused mainly on Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Draco, and newcomer Professor Horace Slughorn. The other actors had very little appearances in the movie. I guess they did this to condense all the content of the novel into a 153 minute movie. I, myself, enjoyed the movie. I love seeing the novels portrayed on the big screen, even if they left out some great parts of the novel. I think they should have kept the movie PG-13 instead of PG and maybe then they would have had more of the hardcore stuff. It seemed like they wanted to make it more suitable for younger kids to watch. I think that the Harry Potter series wasn't really written for young kids in the first place. If you read the books, you would understand that there is a lot of violence, evil, and dark magic. So, I really hope that they make the next two movies PG-13. In closing, I recommend you go and watch this movie if you are a fan of the Harry Potter series. People who have read the book may be disappointed, but just think...you know ALOT more information than the non-book readers will know. Questions or comments.....please indulge me!!

Got the Samsung Instinct

I recently just bought the Samsung Instinct from Sprint. Since my two year contract was up and my old phone was all beat up, I decided to purchase a new phone. I came across the Instinct which immediately caught my eye. This phone offers so many different applications that are useful. It includes GPS, a 2.0 megapixel camera, internet, touch screen, Mp3 player, TV/Video, radio, games, and many more features. I especially like the voice activated calling it offers. Now, I can just say, "Call Danielle," and sure enough it will call my fiance'. With my contract renewal, I purchased the phone for only 49.99 (original price - $449)! I also upgraded my calling plan because I am getting an employee discount benefit, and so I get unlimited data, text messaging, photo messaging, email, for the low rate of $53.99/month. That to me is an amazing offer. The service has not giving me no problems yet, and I am not cutting out in the places I previously would cut out in. Movie Matinee - Transformers 2

Danielle and I decided to go to the movies yesterday. We had two choices- my pick of Transformers 2 : Revenge of the Fallen or her pick of I Love You Beth Cooper. I really didn't consider ILYBC as a movie you would want to see on the big screen. On the other hand, Transformers offered a lot of action and great special effects. I won the decisive vote and we went to go see Transformers 2. We went early in the day so we could get Matinee prices, which are even really high at $6.50/person. Then Danielle was being mean, and said I shouldn't buy popcorn because its way too expensive. Meanwhile, the popcorn guy is staring at us arguing. I guess Danielle was right though so I ended up not getting any. Their "best" deal was a medium popcorn, medium drink, and candy for $10.00. We passed. So we got to see some previews of movies and the on that stood out the most was the new Harry Potter movie. It looks very good, and I'm excited to go see it later this week as I have read the entire series. Furthermore, Half-Blood Prince is one of my favorite books. Transformers was a very good movie despite all the harsh critic reviews. If you enjoyed the first one, I believe you would definitely enjoy this new installment. Shia gives another great performance as Sam Witwicky. Megan Fox brings something to the movie that I just can't put into words. The robots are all back and cool as they were in the previous film. Many new robots join the cast. One in particular that stood out the most for me was Devestator. He was the biggest Transformer I have ever witnessed. The movie was 150 minutes long, but to tell you the truth you wouldn't even know it because of all the action going on. At one point of the movie, I looked over at Danielle and she had tears in her eyes. There was a sad part towards the end that hit her emotional button, but I don't want to ruin it for you all. I definitely recommend you go see this movie, especially if you enjoyed the first. Questions or comments ........ please indulge me!!

Another Checkmark on the List

We met with our potential Disc Jockey yesterday. We set up an appointment to talk with her at Pizza Hut @ 7Pm. We arrived around 6:45PM and were sitting in my car watching various cars pull in. With each car we would say, "Is this her....I hope not she's old!" orwould say, "Oh no! I think that's her we should just leave!". As you could tell we were nervous to meet with her. So, Danielle called her cell phone, and she answered and said she was already inside. Now, we were really nervous. So, we walked in and met with Davida. She was a very nice woman and she brought her boyfriend with her, who was a nice guy. We sat down and started talking about what she offered. Meanwhile, I was a little hungry so I ordered Cheese Breadsticks. She had a very good deal to DJ the whole night for $475. This would also include a personal slideshow of us growing up together. I asked her if she had a disco ball that we could use, and Danielle slapped my arm and said, "Quit being dumb!". Then Danielle made a weird comment along the lines of, "You'll learn his fun personality as the day goes on." I gave her this what-the-heck-are-you-talking-about grin. My food came and instead of Cheese Breadsticks they brought me Mozzerella sticks. I was upset, but I let it go and said sadly that I wanted the breadsticks. Then Godsmack came on the radio at Pizza Hut and I asked if we could have Godsmack playing in the wedding too. Davida gave a nervous smile and said we could play whatever we wanted. I informed her I was joking and she laughed. They seemed very nice and professional, so we decided to give them a deposit to book her for our wedding night. So another check is off the list. We may actually check two items off the list since Davida also offers a photography package. We have to talk that over still. Questions or comments.....please indulge me!!

Groomsmen Chosen

Well, aside from my nervousness, I did it. I called my groomsmen and asked them to be in the wedding. They all said they would do it, which makes me feel better. So my Best Man/Groomsmen are all set. Now, we have to decide on our colors so I can arrange what they are to wear. We decided just to have the groomsmen wear suits instead of tuxes. This will be cheaper for them, and I will stand out more if I am the only one in a tuxedo. I think I am just going to wear a black tux with an Ivory vest and tie. So another thing done on the to-do list. With less than 4 months to go, Danielle and I are making pretty good progress! Questions or comments ...... please indulge me!!

Good day off

I had a good day off. We went and dropped our deposit off at the wedding chapel. We also took a tour of the chapel and they have an enormous pipe organ that took up the whole back wall of the chapel. I had never seen anything like it before. Afterwards, we went to the tennis courts, practiced a little bit, and played a set. It was really hot out so we didn't stay out there long. There was also a stray cat there and it was following us around meowing. I felt bad because I knew he was hungry, but I did not have any food to give them. So, Danielle poured some water on the ground, but the cat didn't want it anyways. Then, we stopped at Sheetz because I was craving a Pepsi ICEE...it didn't turn out as good as I thought it would. There was too much syrup and nut enough slush. We followed that up with a trip to the grocery store, came home, and cooked a DiGiornio. Finally, we printed our wedding invitations which took probably two hours to figure out how. We accomplished a few things today and hopefully can accompish more tomorrow since I am off again! Wedding updates

We got a few more things accomplished towards our wedding. Danielle bought a bunch of decorations. She also bout the cake cutters, the guestbook, and some more invitations. Today marks the 4 month countdown to our wedding. I still haven't asked my groomsmen. I just keep putting it off. We are in the talks with a DJ now who said she will charge $475 for the whole night and includes a slide show presentation. I think that's a pretty good price. Danielle said she never heard of a woman DJ, and I said, "What about Samantha Ronson (Lohan's girlfriend)?". she smiled and said, "Oh yeah!". As for a photographer, we were talking with one, but she hasn't returned our calls in over a week. I guess we have to move on with that aspect. Well things seem to be moving along smoothly. Time to Pick my Groomsmen

The time has finally arrived for me to pick my Groomsmen/Best Man. I have been trying to put it off as long as I could, but I finally have to make a choice. Danielle has been breathing down my neck to hurry up and pick so we can get more things organized. I'm only allowed 4 Groomsmen according to her so that has made my choice even more difficult. I have two people in mind for best man and also my older brother, but since he did not choose me as his best man and is being difficult about the wedding, I have narrowed the best man to two choices. I'm leaning more towards one, since I have been friends with that person longer and I am in his wedding. Plus my other choice lives in Minnesota, so it would be hard for him to organize any kind of event since he is still in school. I don't know though, because I know either way someone will get upset. I'm definitely going to have both of them in the wedding party though, and also my brother. As for my fourth, its down to another two friends. Since one is having me in his wedding also, then I'm most likely going to pick him to be in the wedding. I will make my 5th buddy an usher, I guess, if he will do it. I hate making these kind of decisions, and I wish I could make everyone of my friends my best man. Well, I will probably be making my phone calls later today, unless I chicken out, so wish me luck! Uneventful Fourth of July

This year, I unfortunately had to work the afternoon shift for July 4, 2009. I didn't get to go anywhere fun to watch the fireworks. We did, however, have a little party at work. Everyone brought in something to eat, and I pitched in to get some pop and juice. I ate pretty good. I had a huge slice of a cold cut submarine sandwich, some little smokies, chips and dip, vegetable tray, cocktail shrimp, and also some kiwi that Danielle packed in my lunch. It was very filling! Another cool thing is that we actually could see the fireworks from one of our windows. The downside was we couldn't hear the bangs, and the fact that they were so far away. This is the first year I didn't get to watch the fireworks with Danielle since we've been together. I hope next year I will not have to work on the Fourth, but at least I got time and a half. House Warming Party

So yesterday, July 3, Danielle and I went to one of my friend's housewarming party. He recently just purchased a house and had a party to commemorate moving in. We wanted to get him a gift so we went to Walmart to look around. I had two good ideas looking around the store. I saw a nice Crockpot and a digital scale that even measured your BMI. Danielle insisted that they probably already had those items and to just get them a gift certificate so they can get what they actually needed. So, I listened to her and went with a giftcard. We arrived at the house and alot of people were already there. I got to see alot of my friends that I hadn't seen in a while. Since we moved out of the area, it's been hard to keep in touch with everyone, but seeing them yesterday was very fortunate. So after mingling for a few, we got to eat some food. They had burgers, hotdogs, pasta salad, chips and dip, fruit pizza, and many other things to choose from. I ate 3 burgers and a hot dog, I believe, and some fruit pizza. The fruit pizza was actullay really good. I had never heard of it before. Danielle didn't eat much because she ate at my parent's house before we went to the party. They also had a keg and some jello shots, but I opted to drink a few cups from the keg. Then some people went swimming, which was crazy because the water was freezing. Then one of my friends and I played Cornhole, but I got beat. I'm not too good at that game. Afterwards, a few of us passed some football on the road. I kept losing my slippers though. Then it got dark so most of us went inside to continue the party. We played pushup poker, where you bet pushups instead of money. Amazingly, I ended up the victor which I would have never expected. I was betting like 100's of pushups though and people were calling and losing. If you can't do the pushups your out of the game. It was a fun night and Danielle drove me home because she said I drank to much. She always looks out for me and that's one of the many reasons I love her. Long Day Tomorrow

It's going to be a long day tomorrow. I picked up an extra shift, so I will be working 16 hours. I'm young so I can handle it. I need the extra money for the wedding coming up in November so I decided to go ahead and take the overtime. I'm only going to get 5 hours of sleep if I go to bed this instant, but knowing me I'll probably procrastinate like I always do. It's like I find ANYTHING else to do but go to sleep. I'm off Friday, so at least I will have that day to sleep in until whenever. I do have to go to a house warming party for a friend Friday though, but not until 4 pm. I'll probably be too tired to blog tomorrow night, so I apologize in advance if I don't make it. Hospital Aftermath

I just returned from the hospital with Danielle who had to have an endoscope performed this morning. We arrived at the hospital at 7:30 AM for registration and found Danielle's dad waiting for us. We waited for about an hour and a half before they took her back. Then me and Jim sat and talked one on one for awhile. That doesn't happen much, but it was cool to chat with my future father-in-law. Then we went back to visit before she had the procedure done, and she was very nervous. We calmed her down and after a few minutes they took her back for the procedure. After about 20 minutes, the doctor came out and talked to Jim and I about the results. The results of the endoscopy were normal, but the doctor took some of her small intestine to run some further testing. He said she may have a food allergy, but is not sure and would require further testing. Then after about an hour of recovery, Danielle was finally able to leave. She came out stumbling because of the drugs they gave her to sedate her. First thing she asked about were the wedding invitations that she had to show her stepmom. I thought that was cute. She then went to her dad's to spend the day, since I have to leave for work at 1:15pm. I'm just glad everything is alright, and hopefully nothing else is wrong. Scared for Tomorrow

I'm kind of worried for tomorrow! Danielle has to go to the GI doctor in order to have an endoscopy performed. An endoscopy is when the doctor shoves a tiny camera down your throat in order to see if your esophagus/throat has any tears, inflammation, or obstruction. The reason she is getting the procedure done is because she has been having tightness on one side of her throat, and sometimes she gets short of breath. I believe it all stems from her allergies. She seemed to develop really bad allergies this past Spring which put her body under alot of stress. She's mainly worried about the sedation because last time she got sedated she said she was out of it for the whole day. So I will have to get up early tomorrow morning because her appointment is at the buttcrack of dawn. I just hope we hear good news, and I will keep you all informed. Blog Improvements

My blog underwent some improvements due to the input from some good smart people. I added the YouTube channel though its not as cool as I thought it be. I thought I would get to pick which video gets played. I also added an iLike playlist with a few songs that I enjoy listening to. My readers can also add songs if they want to, but if I don't like the song then I will remove it :) . I also added "Indulge Simon" - a memory game, "Indulge the Cat" - a neat widget I found, and "Indulge Pacman" - the classic arcade game. I changed the template around so it's better to look at. I appreciate everyone's help and would encourage you to add your own opinions on how to improve my blog! As always.....please indulge me!!

Visit From the 'Rents

My parents came to visit us today! It's always cool when they come down. We get to go out and shop and usually go out to eat. Following this routine, we started off going to Jo Ann Fabrics to check for Wedding decorations/invitations for our upcoming wedding. The prices were kind of high, but my mom bought us our invitations which was very much appreciated. Next, we went to Lowe's because they want to remodel their bathroom and were looking for the price of their tiles. They were too expensive at Lowe's so we didn't stay in there too long. After Lowes, we decided to stop at Sam's Club because my mom is a member there. They got many good deals there, but you have to buy everything in bulk. In the long run though, I believe its well worth spending money for a membership there. We also went to visit our reception hall, so I could show them around and see how they liked it. They were very approving of the place which I was shocked to hear. Afterwards, we went to Applebee's to go grab a bite. I love going there for their 2 for $20 deal. This deal includes two entree's and an appetizer for $20. I got the fire pit burger and it tore up my stomach proper. Overall, it was an excellent meal even though I could not finish because I filled up my stomach with Pepsi. I picked up the tab since my parents bought us stuff from Sam's Club. After eating, the women insisted on going to Michael's craft store, but me and my dad decided to stay in the car. I couldn't wait to go home because my stomach was upset. Of course, Danielle and my mom took forever in the store. Finally, they came out and I rushed home! Then we concluded the night with a few games of Euchre. My dad and I were partners and unfortunately.....we lost every game. He wasn't too happy, but hey that's the way the cards go. I promise I'm usually always on the winning end! Fun day out!

I finally got a day off today! We decided to go swimming at the local pool. Our local pool has a huge slide which I love to go on, but for some reason everytime we got to the top of the hill it smelled like straight up urine. It was making me want to gag. Then we took a few laps around the pool to get some exercise. My shoulder was feeling pretty good actually. After laying out a bit, we went and rode on the paddleboat for 15 minutes. The lake was filthy though. There was nasty mold-looking stuff all through it. I couldn't even imagine if someone fell in. They would probably contract at least 3 diseases. Isn't there any way to clean a lake out? Any one know? Afterwards, we went and played mini putt-putt golf, and I barely pulled off a victory as you can see by the score card here. Don't laugh at the final scores! +23 is pretty bad. We did all those activities for $20.00 so that was a pretty good deal.

We also accomplished one more thing today. I paid the deposit for our reception area! It cost me $200.00, but it finally set the date in place. The official date of the wedding is now November 7th, 2009. It's only 4 months away, but at least it gives me an extra month to prepare. Wedding Date

Well, another bump in the matrimony road. Our date for the wedding now got pushed back a month to November 7th. The reason for the pushback was that we wanted to have a wedding outdoors on October 7th at Oglebay Park, but the only time they weren't booked was 10:00AM - 12:00PM. The conflict with this was Danielle did not think she had enough time to have her hair done. So that plan was shot out the window. Now we our going to get married in a chapel at the college she graduated from. Hey, anywhere is fine with me. I just want the stress to be over with. We're still trying to find ways to save for the wedding. I've been getting some really good tips from various other bloggers and appreciate their advice very much. We are still over budget, but I don't think not going over budget is possible. Questions or comments ....... please indulge me!!

Chiropractic Aftermath

Well, I just got done with my follow up chiropractic visit. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. First the doctor brought me in the education room and went through a slide show with me. Then he analyzed my X-rays and showed me that my vertebrae were actually turning like a corkscrew. This was causing my shoulder muscle to not receive signals from my nerves to work properly. This caused my shoulder to not be latched down like it was supposed to, thus causing my shoulder blade to stick out. Anyways, he then brought me into his exam room and he cracked my back better than its ever been cracked before. He had me lay and sit in various positions and snapped my spine back into place. After realigning my spine, he sent me in with the massage therapist who gave me a 22 minute massage to the tune of some soothing music. That part I really liked. After the massage, they brought me over to do some physical therapy. They had me do various exercises with the rubber balls which worked my neck, shoulder, and lower back. After breaking a sweat they had me lay down and strapped electrodes to my back. Then they zapped me for about 15 minutes. It actually didn't hurt like I thought it would. It just tingled and felt good. Well, the whole visit took about 2 hours, and they want me to come back 24 more times!! They need to keep working on my back they said so it will stay fixed and not get worse. The thing is each visit costs me $50.00!! So all together with equipment and appointments its going to cost me $1600. Danielle doesn't approve of this and says I either choose the wedding or my treatment. That's pretty harsh. So, I guess I will have to postpone my treatment for now. I'll have to suffer a few more months because after the wedding I am definitely going to finish my treatment! Wedding is back on!

So I guess we are going to have a traditional wedding again. We got some more financial support from my parent's, which has relieved some of the stress about the budget. We are still way over budget, but I think we will be okay in the long run. We have the date set for October 10 of this year LOL. Talk about getting it done fast. I just hope we have enought ime to get everything in place. The dress is bought, the reception area is booked, and the favors are picked out. We still have to get invitations, flowers, decorations, a pastor, a place to have the ceremony, pick our wedding party, and I'm not sure what else. If anyone has any ways to cut costs or see something I'm missing let me know. Thanks!! And as always ... please indulge me!

Chiropractor Visit

Today was my very first Chiropractor visit. I could always make my right shoulder blade stick out way farther than my left one which didn't seem normal. Latlely, I have been having extreme discomfort under my right shoulder blade. The discomfort seemed to be getting worse especially when I layed down for bed. So, I found a coupon for a free evaluation and x-rays, and I decided to finally go see the chiropractor. I went to Nardone Chiropractic in Wheeling, WV. I got to meet Dr. Nardone who is a very nice guy and seems to be very well educated. They ran about 5 X-rays, which I never like to take because of radiation. Then they had me do various reflex tests, a foot scan, and checked my posture and muscle strength. It was great when the other doctor, who was doing the various tests, kept saying "very nice" after each test. Then came the silence when he came to my shoulder blade. After the tests, Dr. Nardone came in and described to me that my nerves may not be firing correctly causing one of my muscles to not work properly. He said this is why my shoulder blade is sticking out so bad due to the muscle weakness in the muscle that is supposed to hold it back. He instructed me to come back tomorrow morning for more testing. I just hope its nothing too serious. I will let you all know how it goes. Have a good one! Stress with the Wedding

Let the stress begin! Well now, once again we do not know what were doing for our wedding. We had a bunch of plans set up, but they didn't fall through. Danielle keeps saying this should be a happy event, but is so stressed out about our budget that she would rather just elope. I always wanted a normal wedding, though, with my family and close friends there and of course my beautiful bride! So now were arguing back and forth. It's just hard to cut out people that you think should be at your wedding to share your special day. I just hope she changes her mind about eloping, but only she can do that. Poker Champion

One of my favorite hobbies is playing poker, preferably No-Limit Poker. I believe that I am a very good player. I have always wanted to play in the World Series of Poker or the WPT. I am very willing to put my money where my mouth is. Over my years of playing poker, I am definitely in the red. This doesn't mean that I am not a good player. Becoming truly good at poker comes with experience. I have over 5 years of experience now and think I have definitely developed the skills that are required in order to win a huge tournament. Planning a Wedding

We are currently planning a wedding. We have set the date for some time in October. That gives us less than 4 months to get everything together and organized. We got engaged on June 3, 2009 inn Virginia Beach. We are stressing out already due to the time constraint we are under. Danielle has already bought her wedding dress at David's Bridal, and she said everyone there was really helpful. So she is making some progress and I'm slacking off as usual. I will probably just rent my tux anyway when the time comes. We're looking at about 130 guests if everything goes smoothly and we can afford it. That number is also way smaller than the original 300+ that we were originally planning on inviting. Due to a tight budget, we had to make some cuts. So don't be mad if you are not invited to the wedding. I apologize in advance. In this economy its hard to throw a big wedding. We still need to get invitations, book a place, get catererers, favors, flowers, tuxes, pastor, and cookies. This is going to be a stressful 4 months, but I am sure it will all turn out alright. Punch Out! for the Wii

I recently purchased Punchout! for the Wii for $49.99. The game is so much fun. Most of the classic characters from the original are featured in the game. The lineup includes Glass Joe, Von Kaiser, the new guy Disco Kid, King Hippo, Magic Tiger, Don Flamenco, Bear Hugger, Bald Bull, Aran Ryan, Mr. Sandman, Super Macho Man, Piston Honda, and Sodapop Soplinski. Many of the old favorites are back along with their unique signature moves. It takes a while to get used to their patterns, but once you do you wull be able to knock them into the canvas in no time. What I really like about this game is that once you get the World Championship belt you will be challenged for the title by all the fighters that you just pummeled. Watch out though as these new and improved fighters are stronger, faster, and have only one goal in mind: KILL MAC AND GET THE BELT! The game also features an exhibition mode where you will have 3 challenges to achieve against each fighter. The exhibition mode also features the new and improved boxers, but you will have to beat them in career mode in order to unlock them. A multiplayer option was also added to the game where you and a friend each take control of Little Mac and fight each other. There's a twist though. Eventually, one of the players will turn into GIGAMAC and lay down the hurt on his opponent. I am very satisfied with the game. The controls are fun and easy to learn, and the game is Wii Board compatible. I have heard bad things about the Wii Board though wih this game, so I wouldn't recommend using it. There is a hidden gem among the stock market. I stumbled across this stock while doing research for a week. The 5-star stock is none other than Oceanfreight Inc. (OCNF). Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals

How exciting is this match up between the Penguins and the Red Wings! The series is tied up 3-3 with just one more game to go. This last game is going to be at Red Wings Stadium which the Penguins are 0-3 at so far in the series. They really need to step it up to beat the Red Wings at home. Both teams are playing very well, with the exception of Game 5 for Pittsburgh. The game is going to air Friday night @ 8pm on NBC. I'm sure it will be a very fast-paced game with lots of action. I myself am a Penguins fan as I grew up near Pittsburgh so to me its my home team. I am really hoping that they can win in Detroit and share a dance with Lord Stanley. We need to bring the Cup back to Pittsburgh! 6 Superbowl rings and the beautiful Stanley Cup would look wonderful on anyones mantel. We just need to close the deal on Friday. Adam Lambert Comes Out

While watching American Idol this past season, my girlfriend and I were arguing about runner-up Adam Lambert's sexuality the whole time. She insisted he was a homosexual, but I definitely thought he was straight. I guess I was wrong as he told Rolling Stones magazine that he is in fact gay. It just goes to show you never know about someone just from an outer appearance. Either way, I still think he is a great singer and will have a long, prosporous career. He's got unmistakable talent and may even be the new front man for Queen, replacing the late Freddie Mercury. Questions or comments ...... please indulge me!!!

Ocean Breeze Waterpark/ Motor World

On our third day at Virginia Beach, we ventured off to thhe nearby waterpark Ocean Breeze. Cost for a ticket was 25.99 each, but we had $3.00 off coupons that we got in the visitor's guide at the hotel we were staying in. The park offers many different water slides and a 1,000,000 gallon wave pool. The slides were great. They offered body slides, tube slides, double tube slides, and body mat slides. My favorite ride there was the Hurricane. It is a body slide that drops you near 60 mph into a giant funnel and you swivel around the big funnel like your in a big toilet then finally plummet into a 8 foot pool. Very exhilerating!! The worst was this black body slide. It felt like my stomach went into my mouth I was going so fast. I needed a break afterwards because I felt like I was going to throw up. Then there is the wavepool. Whenever you would hear Queen's "We Will Rock You" you knew that the waves were on their way. They also had a cannonball contest that was fun to watch. Then we moseyed on over to Motor World, a giant go-cart arena next door to the waterpark. The prices were pretty steep. The average price per ride was $7.00 per person. We rode 5 rides for $60.00 because they had a save $5.00 deal, or you can ride unlimited for 2 hours for $80.00. So we went on 3 different tracks altogether. We rode the faster one twice, I won once and she won once. Then we did the figure 8 track and she lapped me twice (I still think there was something wrong with my cart). Then we did the cannonball run twice and we each one once. So she beat me overall. I was sad that I didn't get to ride the Super Speed track, but prices were $22.00/ person just for that one ride. We decided not to do it, but it did look like alot of fun. Waterpark I give 4.75 out of 5, only because of the steep price, and Motor World a 2 out of 5 because it was way too expensive. Note: I lost my wallet on one of the rides at Motor World, and we went back just to reride the ride. The guy was nice enough to ask me if I had lost my wallet and returned it to me when I shockingly discovered mine was missing. Kudos to that guy!!

Engaged!!!

So during our recent trip to Virginia Beach, I got the courage to propose. It was halfway through our vacation, and I had the ring in my cargo pocket(so it wouldn't bulge out). I was carrying it around for a long time waiting for the right moment. Then Danielle decided she wanted to go look for seashells on the beach. A light flickered in my head and I said yeah let's go! So we went down to the beach and we were strolling in the sand near the shoreline. I was getting nervous as there were many people around, but thankfully it was dark. We found a few seashells, and then she said she didn't think there were anymore so we should head back to the hotel. That's when I thought to myself you better do it now or miss this great opportunity. So I turned to her and said, "But first," and I kneeled to the ground and pulled out the ring, " will you marry me?" Her eyes lit up like the lighthouses on the far side of the beach and she said, "Yes!!". It was a great moment, but I only wish there was someone there to record it. Oh well, I'll remember it for the rest of my life. Questions or comments...please indulge me!!

Back From the Beach

So, were back from the beach and guess what....we're engaged! The vacation was really fun. We went to Virginia Beach and stayed for 5 days. The ocean is amazing there. The waves are fun and are calm enough to swim in. Surfers were out there too though riding some of the bigger waves. The drive down was probably the worst part of the trip. We had to drive down I-295 near Washington, D.C.. That was the worst experience ever. We hit traffic at 5:30 in the morning which wasn't too too bad, but on the way back we hit it at 3 PM... safe to say we were stuck in traffic for nearly 4 hours. Anyways, Virginia Beach has a 4 mile boardwalk, one section for riding bicycles and the other for walking/running. Hotels span the oceanfront for the full 4 miles along with many restaurantsalong the way. The King Neptune statue was my favorite on the boardwalk. Whoever sculpted that had some skills. The first day we went down to the beach and swam for a while, layed out, got ourselves burnt even though we wore sunscreen. Some little kid kept coming up to us asking us if we wanted to play ball, but we were too busy laying out haha. Then the second day we bought a Boogie board for $6.00, and that was so much fun. I recommend boogie boarding to anyone. After the boogie boarding/swimming we went and rented a carriage bike, which I really did not want to but Danielle made me. It is one of those bikes where two people peddle side by side and has a canopy over it. I actually did have fun on it even though we peddled for 5 miles!!! The third day we went to Ocean Breeze Waterpark and Motor World which I will detail in another blog. We also ate a seafood buffet and it cost us $26.00/person and we added a lobster on for $6.00 bucks (only way that the buffet could be worth the price). The fourth day it rained so we went to the local mall, which had many stores and an indoor carosel. Then the fifth day it rained also and we headed back home after a wonderful vacation. Virginia Beach is a very beautiful place to go on vacation. They have many activities you can participate in: parasailing, swimming with dolphins, water park, amusement park, go-cart riding, taking boat tours, sailboating, free beach, surf lessons, night clubs, arcade, etc. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 only because the water is not as blue as I would like it to be. Star Trek

I went and saw Star Trek last Friday. Now I had never really watched the show, but I wanted to check this movie out because it seemed like a good theater experience. My hunch was right. This movie was a great prequel that fills in the back story of the Starship Enterprise and its crew. It had a great cast, and was directed very well. The story does get dull at some points where you want to say, "Come on, just get with the action already!", but overall a great action flick. It's definitely a movie that I would watch while still in theaters. Zachary Quinto had a good performance, but it seemed like I was always waiting for him to slice someone's head open like his character, Sylar, in NBC's "HEROES" would usually do. Otherwise, he portrayed Spock very well. The rest of the cast portrayed their characters very well. The only thing I was waiting for and never got the satisfaction of hearing was, "BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!". How are you going to leave out one of the most famous lines from the Star Trek series?

Pros : Great cast, Lots of action

Cons: No "beam me up" phrase, dull at times

Pierogies

Pierogies are gross. With my recipe, however, you can enjoy a great tasting concoction that will be enjoyed by everyone in your household. Why is my recipe the best? Because it just is. What you do is boil some frozen pierogies and while that is going you sautee some red onions. Be sure to add salt to your boiling water, by the way. When its all said and done you get some Mexican mix shredded cheese and sprinkle it over the cooked pierogies. Stick the plate in the microwave for near 40 seconds just so that the juicy cheese melts all over your pierogies. If you like spicy pierogies, you can add some hot sauce to the finished product. I use very, very hot sauce. Then you add the sauteed onions to the finished product and voila!! Try this recipe and tell me what you think or let me know if it's missing anything, though I know it's most likely not!!

Hey Everyone, my name is Adriano and I'm going to start blogging because I like to write about random things. I'm about to go to Virginia Beach tomorrow night! It's about 8 hours away and I'm going to drive my own car. Hopefully I will not break down on the way because my car is getting old. I'm heading down there for the week because i got a week of paid vacation after working for a year straight! I've got the hotel booked and me and my girl are all packed up. Her name is Danielle and we have been together for 4 years and 7 months. So I won't be on for a week, but I'll be back and inform you all of my trip.
